Product Details:
  • fully assembled and factory finished
  • prototype Viewliners designed in the late 80s to replace aging heritage equipment
  • designed as a single level car primarily for eastern routes due to tunnel clearance issues
  • production units were built by Amerail/Morrison-Knudsen and entered service in 1995, with many still serving today
  • cars featured roomettes, bedrooms and an accessible bedroom with space for a wheelchair or mobility device
  • easily spotted by the double row of windows
  • models feature the following improved tooling and details:
  • -now with full interiors
  • -improved diaphragms
  • -GSI metal truck for electrical pickup
  • -factory installed wire grab irons
  • -detailed underbody
  • -accurate Amtrak paint schemes and graphics
  • -realistic plated finish on car body
  • -correct 36" metal wheels
  • -Proto MAX metal knuckle couplers installed
