The Class One Model Works model is presented in three different marking schemes indicative of the time frame as-delivered, to intermediate life, and to current configuration and lettering with pre-weathering paint.
- model is based on prototype car measuring 58' 4" with a 21' long lower deck
- road specific details such as appropriate body style, jacking pads and decking variations
- model is equipped with GSC trucks upgraded to roller bearings
- dual-end braking system components fully sandwiched within the frame of the car casting with the exception of the hand brakes, the main air line and the brake system balancing lines which were required to run exterior to the lower deck. These details will be highly visible, especially on the cars with etched metal grating on the upper decks
- Additional details include:
- -stiffening fillets added under main deck and above truck relief on car body sides
- -square jacking pads located above the trucks based on prototype body style
- -wood decks provided per prototype style. All original deck casting openings
- -correct stirrups and grab irons provided at each corner of car
- -brake beams and brake shoe holders provided on all twelve wheels
- -where prototypically correct, deck openings filled with etched metal grating are provided. All of the brake rigging is modeled and is visible in this rendition
- -"A" style jacking pads provided at proper location per prototype
- -all axles equipped with rotating bearing caps. Bearing styles have been mixed for a prototypical appearance
